NHS Urgent Mental Health Helpline

England Only

NHS urgent mental health helplines are for people of all ages.

You can call for:

  • 24-hour advice and support - for you, your child, your parent or someone you care for

  • help to speak to a mental health professional

  • an assessment to help decide on the best course of care

You may need urgent help for many reasons.

The important thing to know is you will not be wasting anyone's time.

Papyrus HOPELINEUK

Weekdays 10am-10pm
Weekends and Bank Holidays 2pm-10pm

Nightline

Varies

If you're a student, you can look on the Nightline website to see if your university or college offers a night-time listening service. Nightline phone operators are all students too.

If you live in Wales, you can call the Community Advice and Listening Line (C.A.L.L.) on 0800 132 737 (open 24/7) or you can text 'help' followed by a question to 81066.
